While our opponents assert that the Township Committee has squandered our budget reserves in the past few year, here are the actual figures. Our Chief Financial Officer, in consultation with the Auditor are in compliance with State law and best practices. They determine the appropriate amount each year.

The funds exist as a rolling cushion against unforeseen expenses. Reserves account for 8% of the total budget. In a small rural community like ours, with a $4.8-million budget, every dollar counts.
