Working Together for West Amwell
About Connor:
Connor (pictured on the left) was born and raised in Hightstown, New Jersey where he was elected at 23 and served two terms on Borough Council. He understands the importance of volunteerism and will foster a community where all residents are heard so we have a voice in our future together.
Living life to the fullest isn’t a cliché for Connor. As a childhood cancer survivor, Connor understands the hardships that life can often bring to families, which is why he brings passion and empathy to everything he works on. As a councilman, he fought to ban smoking in parks protecting families and children from secondhand smoke.
Now, Connor is taking the lead on the Land Use Board to help write the livestock ordinance with board members and farmers to resolve an important issue to all residents. He is committed to improving the quality of life for West Amwell. He and his wife were drawn to the township not only because of its rural character, but its dedication to open space and farmland preservation. Connor is a member of the Township’s Open Space Committee and is working diligently to continue these efforts.
His education in planning & zoning and career offers a unique background to help fight development. He works as a commercial real estate appraiser and is a qualified expert witness in New Jersey Superior Courts, municipal councils, and boards throughout the state.
About Rich:
Rich (pictured on the right) was born into a blue-collar family in northern Wisconsin where he grew up understanding hard work and the golden rule. He describes himself as having an old soul, having loved hanging out with his grandmother and her friends, playing pinochle as a child. As a teenager, he worked for local farmers doing everything from picking rocks in the fields to bailing hay for the animals.
Rich worked various jobs to put himself through college and joined the Army as an officer. After six and half years and a deployment in Bosnia, Rich left the military to settle down and start a family. A dedicated father, Rich spent a lot of his time in the early years coaching his children’s sports and working as a referee for baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer. Today, he has two children and two stepchildren and works as a professional.
Rich is happiest when he’s volunteering at Feeding Hands, a food pantry in Hillsborough, donating blood for the NY Blood Center, or out on a mission with Team Rubicon, helping communities recover from natural disasters.
Rich understands the good as well as the challenges that come with being a husband, parent, veteran, farmer and being an active member in the community. He values integrity, honesty and loyalty. If elected, he will bring a fresh set of eyes with a desire to drive transparency, collaboration and results for the people who live in West Amwell.
